With that said I asked the Toddler what his favourite songs of the time were and this is what he came up with.

10. The Wheels on The Bus Go Round and Round
Classic Tune, variations include “all through the town” instead of “all day long”
And what mummies and daddies get up to on the bus varies depending who sings it (hands up if you’re sniggering now – filthy minds)
9. Walking In The Jungle
Apparently not a new addition to the nursery rhyme collection but one which I was, in a previous life before Mummy, unaware of.
Let’s embrace it hey, I’m not afraaaaaaid.
8. Incy Wincy Spider
If you’re British, Itsy Bitsy if not. While you’re at it why not have a go at making these cool spider props (shameless plug at old blog post)
7. Old MacDonald
Had a farm dontcha know?
Tip, don’t ask your children which animal sound you need to make unless prepared for all eventualities.
Anyone know what noise a flamingo makes????
6. Baa Baa Black Sheep
I’m not sure if this is even politically correct anymore. But I like that it teaches manners, did you know there is a second verse that says Thank You to the sheep? I couldn’t find it on YouTube but I sang it in my songs and stories class
5. The More We Get Together
Theoretically a folk song rather than a nursery rhyme but a catchy little number about how we all share friends
4. Five Naughty Monkeys
Teaching about child safety and that it is bad to jump on the bed. In our house has the opposite effect.
3. Row Row Row Your Boat
Great for working on those abs with a partner.
You can also adapt to include:
– to the shore, if you see a lion don’t forget to roar
– down the river, if you see a polar bear don’t forget to shiver
– out to sea, if you see an octopus give him a kiss from me.
I also shamefully stole the tune for my brushing of the teeth song.
2. Twinkle Twinkle Little Star
Melt your heart moments when they do the star actions. Song of choice for bedtime.
1. Wind the Bobbin Up
Coming in at #1 the winding of the bobbin. I have no clue what a bobbin is. The toddler has no clue what a bobbin is, but we can sing our little hearts out about it no problem…..

I love it, that last video of the signing!!! What a start haha! I think it’s meant to be something about sowing or some such. Not a clue, but I feel like it’s something I should know. I’m so glad I requested this, it’s great! And Luke and j have a few more tunes to sing tomorrow – we’ve just been singing Peter Rabbit… Floppppppy ears and curly whiskkkkers. Xx

I love this! Emma’s favourite is Wheels on the bus! She sings it all the time along with the Peppa Pig theme song 🙂 #ToddlerApprovedTuesday
Yey! Love this!! At our singing group we go to there is a new dinosaur song, I havent got the hang of the words yet, and also a washing machine song they sing with the parachute thing which I also cant remember!

I loved when I went to singing group and a song started that reminded me of my childhood so I throw myself in (with gusto) to be the only one *loudly and badly* singing….. x
