You’re never to old to be #BreakingBarriers

#BreakingBarriers

At what point would you consider yourself old?

When I was younger I would have said 33 was over the hill, however here I am at 33 staring down the barrel at my 34th birthday and I feel as though I should still be at school with my skirt rolled up and laughing over everything.  The only difference between now and then is that I have a lot more grey hair and two small bundles of energy to keep me on my toes.  Who probably think I am as old as the hills but that is besides the point.

Nowadays I look around me and realise that age is just a number.  With advancements in healthcare and the general standard of living rising so too is the average length of life.  This trend is only set to continue with the over-65’s set to surpass the younger generation by 2050.  At which point I will one of the senior generation.  Old if you will.

But…

Old is no longer an excuse, no longer an issue, no longer a reason to hide your head in the sand and pretend that .  It is time to break down some barriers and show that you can teach an old dog new tricks, which is just what Bathing Solutions aims to do with the launch of their #BreakingBarriers campaign.

Want to start a blog?  Do it.

Want to keep in touch with the grandkids on Facebook?  Do it.

Want to learn how to video?  Do it.

Want to learn a new skill?  Do it.

Not sure where to start?  Ask someone, find a course, look online, talk about it.

Early in 2012 my Mum decided to join Facebook.  So she asked me how; I set up her Facebook account and showed her where to find me.  Where to find friends and how to like photos.  Now she is one of those Facebook games people you silently (and not so silently in my case) curse as they fill up your timeline with how they are doing in Criminal Case.  That I didn’t show her, she just learnt that on her own….

Age is a number, your mindset is what matters.  With the right mindset you too could be #BreakingBarriers and I know in 2050 67 year old me will be showing these youngsters just what you can do when you put your mind to it.
