Living Arrows 4/52 – Blowing Bubbles

“You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth”
Kahlil Gibran

This year I am taking part in Living Arrows, a weekly photography project taking photos of my boys week on week, last week was all about having one of those weeks.

This week however it was my birthday and all in all we’ve seen a lot of improvements in behaviour.  In part down to having slightly more sleep all round, in part because of using breathing techniques and staying calmer when it all kicks off.  That said, we are going to make a new thinking bottle as a calm down technique for my eldest.  By giving him control over making it and then being able to use it as a tool to calm down I’m hoping for a drastic change in attitude, or at the very least a much calmer child.  And one who has the chance to learn how he can deal with those emotions that bubble up inside and threaten to overtake him.

Speaking of bubbling up, the other thing that’s helped this week has been actual bubbles!  Whether it is the act of blowing the bubbles or the actual bubbles themselves I’m not sure but either way both boys have loved chasing bubbles, blowing bubbles and all in all being outside playing together.

The big one was blowing bubbles for the small one, the small one was jumping up and down in excitement.  The bubble mix accidentally, kind of on purpose, being tipped up everywhere.  The end of the bubble dance going horribly wrong as no bubble mix means no more bubbles.  Cue tears.  From both.

But until then it was fun.  And of course, being a good blogger, bubbles means photos and this week my Living Arrows is all about blowing bubbles.

I’m forever blowing bubbles

Aww, we love bubbles too! We have a brilliant battery powered fish that blows hundreds of them out. Sadly our shed was broken into over Christmas and they attempted to steal bubblefish – clearly they had a pang of conscience as we found him in our neighbour’s garden! Although Max now thinks our next door neighbour stole his bubblefish…! #livingarrows

We love bubbles too! In fact our #livingarrows post this week is bubble-themed too! We have been doing ours inside though as it’s so chilly here! Such cute little boys 🙂

Oh I love bubble photos, unfortunately N is useless at blowing them and we’ve not found an automated one that works reasonably well. #livingarrows

You can’t beat a good bubble-blowing session can you! Although it always seems to end up getting spilt everywhere here too, my son gets too excited and jumps around with the bottle in his hand and spills it all over the place! x #LivingArrows
