Living Arrows 16/52 – flying high in the sky

“You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth”
Kahlil Gibran

This year I am taking part in Living Arrows, a weekly photography project taking photos of my boys week on week, last week was our photos were all about our Middle Eastern Easter egg hunt.  Melted chocolate and everything.

This week I am sharing the photos from our trip to the swimming pool, where of course Daddy takes all the glory in being the fun one that throws you in the air.

We’ve had a busy weekend, a busy week in fact.  On Easter Sunday the Baby turned two.  A whole two years from his dramatic arrival.  A whole two years he’s been causing chaos and mayhem in our lives.  Two years since our curly haired little monster completed our family.  With a birthday we’ve had birthday parties, birthday presents, birthday cake and birthday fun all round.

Including a birthday visit to the swimming pool down at Doha Rugby Club to test out the new swimfins that arrived with Grandma.

I love to swim, and right now the weather is simply perfect for a dip in the pool.  It’s baking hot outside, climbing too quickly towards 40 degrees for my liking, but in the pool it’s wonderfully refreshing.

So we swam, and swam, and swam a little bit more.  Watching as the boys confidence grew as they played sharks.  My biggest managing to swim on his own with no fear, giggles floating round was a joy to behold from the boy who was petrified of the water.

Then after all the swimming it was time for Daddy to prove why he is the fun one and for me to panic a little.  It was time for the timeless game of “throw me in the air”….

I definitely panicked at viewing your little’s being thrown so high up in the air over the swimming pool. You captured this moment effortlessly. #livingarrows
