Oh those things you can do, now that you’re two
Waving hello with a big beaming smiles,
Your mouth stretching joyfully miles and miles,
Saying hello in that sweet baby talk,
Holding my hand as we walk and we walk,
From walking to running, you charge on and on,
All of a sudden where has my baby gone?
From hello more words tumble from your rosy red lips,
Ever so sweetly with that soft baby lisp,
Sounding them out, those strange sounding words,
Repeating and testing out all that you’ve heard,
Hello, byebye, and mama and dada
On and on you learn how to chatter
Mama, hold hand you often demand
Pulling me up from sitting to stand
To take me on your next great expedition,
Fierce and determined we go on with your mission,
Walking and whirling all around at home,
Exploring, adventuring, onwards we roam
Look Mama look, see what I’ve found
As he points in excitement down at the ground
Oh mama wow, oh wowee, all I see,
Can you believe it or is it just me?
The wonder that’s here, the amazing new things
Seeing them all, well it makes my heart sing,
Oh little one, sweet, seeing the world through your two year eyes
Brings tales of wonderment, of glory, of surprise
But the best thing for me is to watch you each day
See how you grow, watch how you play,
Documenting daily with photos and words
How you’ve grown oh so big, you can take on the world
My sweet baby boy, each day you amaze me,
With bundles of energy and a little bit crazy,
The things that you’ve learned, the things you can do,
The things that melt me, now you are two,
Each day sees you grow just a little bit more
Before I know it you’ll be off through the door
And I’ll look back and remember each muddy puddle
The sweet baby kisses, the sleepy baby cuddles
For though you are two and such a big boy
You’ll still be my baby, my pride, my joy,
For two is still little, still learning each day
Two is when you take time to play and to play,
Two is exploring and the mud and the dirt,
Two is crashing round, mama kissing boo boos that hurt,
Today you are two, only one thing more to say,
Oh sweet little boy, happy birthday.
