Maddy & Eva Clothing; Review and Giveaway

I don’t know about other mums of boys but as the Toddler Terror has gotten older the selection in the shops has shrunk.  There is row upon row of girls clothes, trendy, classic, funky, bright, pastel, you name it there is a girl’s clothes range.  But boys?  Not so much.

And we have a wedding to prepare for.  My little brother is getting married in September and the Toddler needs to be decked out smartly.  But not in the little carbon copy suits I’ve been finding.  I don know about you but there’s something strange about a child in a full on suit.  Plus it just wouldn’t suit him.

Which is why when I stumbled across Maddy & Eva Boutique Childrens Clothing a local business here in Dubai I was delighted.  Not only does she produce the most beautiful girls clothes, which will serve me well for presents, but she makes a boy’s range as well!  Hooray!

Describing her brand as Laura Ashley meets Cath Kidston, Melanie takes beautiful fabrics and turns them into kids clothes with kids in mind.

So off we went one hot and sunny (and busy!) Saturday to the Ripe Market to meet Melanie and pick a shirt.  When we finally got there and cooled down we choose a pale blue shirt for the Terror to wear for the wedding and have ordered a smaller one of the same design for baby boy (watch this space after September for matching photo spam of the boys) for my brothers wedding.  What I love about these are that although they appear to be a pale blue normal button down shirt there is a funky twist…. under the collar, inside the collar and the cuffs are all fixed with a bright and funky fabric.  In this case stripes!  Which means that just by rolling the sleeves up the shirts look a little less grown up and a lot more little boy funky!

Not only that, but the fabrics are 100% cotton (essential in this heat), hard wearing, easy to wash and come up fairly crease free after washing so you only need to show the iron to the shirt.

In short, we are going to have 2 very well dressed boys for this wedding, the big question is what do I wear to match??
