Food for Thought; Nutella and Banana Turnovers

Now over the weekend I saw one of my friends post on Facebook a picture of her toddler chopping a banana and I realised I hadn’t given the toddler enough credit.  That along with watching “I can cook” made me decide that I would give him a kitchen baking challenge of his very own encompassing some of his favourite food – chocolate and bananas!

Now because of the fact that the toddler did all of this himself, its not pretty, but it is edible!!

The toddler baking challenge

Well of course the toddler accepted the challenge…..

Ingredients

One banana
One jar of nutella (not the whole thing don’t worry)
Puff pastry (I used ready rolled)
Milk to glaze

How we did it

1. Chop the banana, make sure its a little ripe so its easy enough to do with a toddler sized dinner knife

2. Roll out the pastry if you are rolling it out (the picture is actually of the toddler rolling out the pastry, but I did cheat and use the ready rolled stuff and I used the toddler played with one for sausage rolls, efficient of me!)
3. Cut the pastry into squares

4. Spread nutella over the pastry

5. Place chopped bananas on the nutella

6. Fold over the 2 corners
7. Glaze with milk
I misheard the toddler as he asked me whether he could “tip tip” hence the pool of milk…..
8. Bake in the oven for 15 minutes, keep an eye on them
