Photos are little captured moments of time, when you look at one not only do you smile and think ahhh, often memories from the surrounding events of the photo taking come into your head. Evoking memories (often good and bad).
I was tagged by the lovely Nicola from Lady Nicci and the equally lovely Jo from MommaBoss opened up her tag to everyone as she says whenever she tags people they’ve already done it to share my eight photos of happiness (and then told me after I commented she expected to see mine soon!).
My eight captured moments in time.
Our Wedding Day
I married my best friend, in a really personal to us ceremony and we had a fantastic party after with everyone we loved. It was an incredible day, with incredible people and incredible food. As well as an amazing photographer in Karena Cipikoff who captured the moment when my husband told me where we were going on honeymoon during the speeches (Singapore and Bali if you’re wondering). A secret he had been keeping for months.
But this photo also reminds me of my mums brave Father of the Bride speech and the hilarious offering from the Best Man who had tamed down some stories thankfully!
The Toddler’s Birth
Category One Emergency C-Section with no photos as it was so rushed and a baby lucky to be here. I haven’t been able to wash in days. I am still in my hospital gown. The spinal block hasn’t quite worn off but I had a healthy baby boy.
Brotherly Love
Finding out bump was in fact Baby Boy and the Toddler coming into hospital to meet him for the very first time so excited to be a big brother. It’s lovely that these tender moments have continued to grow between them. The baby looks a lot less terrified when he sees the Toddler bounding in for a slap-cuddle and even smiles and laughs at him!
Saying Hello
Even though Baby Boys birth was as dramatic as his brothers it was less rushed. We were able to take the camera. We were able to get the photo of the first meeting.
Family Portrait
We have very few family photos, we had some great ones taken by Sophia Mattia Photography, and then there is this one.
Which is not only our family portrait but was taken at my little brothers wedding bringing back lovely memories of watching him marry his true love. Who he met. By licking her face (my brother is weird).
My Dad
My Dad passed away unexpectedly nearly four years ago, and has missed out on so much in this time. I love this picture of me and my Dad, we were on holiday on a mini cruise, laughing at an inside joke (at the expense of my mum probably). It upsets me to think just how much he is missing out on by not being here, the Toddler, the Baby, the new son-in-law, the new daughter-in-law.
First Wedding Anniversary
As we got married after the Toddler was born he was at our wedding, and at our (incredible) honeymoon. We were lucky enough that my mum offered to come out to Dubai for our first wedding anniversary to stay for a few days so we could go away. So go away we did. To the Maldives.
A weekend of snorkelling (together), eating (together), sunbathing (together), being freaked out by baby sharks (me)…..this picture was taken by balancing the camera on a tree as no one was around!
Travelling Tots
Just because it proves the theory – have children, will travel – we took the Toddler to Petra as he was learning to walk. About 30 seconds after this photo outside the Treasury was taken he fell splat on his bum, I’m about 3 seconds out of shot having stood him up, balanced him, then sprinted off…..
And as with all good tag posts I now pass the gauntlet on…..I can’t wait to see what yours are

Definitely, it brought back so many wonderful memories x
I absolutely love seeing these posts and you have a truly beautiful collection of photographs here. I’m so sorry about your dad, that is really sad. My husband’s dad passed away unexpectedly some years ago and I always feel sad that I never got to meet him and that he never got to meet his granddaughter. We always point him out in photographs to our daughter though so his memory lives on. 🙂 xx

This article was so heart warming to read and touched on something about being human that is so deeply universal and yet ephemeral. The photos are just beautiful. Thank you so much for giving me this moment.
