Today I’ve reached the grand old age of 33 and, being very lucky and very spoilt, I’m spending it out in the Caribbean on board P&O’s cruise ship the Azura, with my mum (who very kindly funded our trip out here but not our bar bill), my lovely husband and two gorgeous boys.
It’s become a bit of a family theme that we go on holiday for my birthday and since meeting my husband we’ve spent my birthday together in Rome, Iguazu Falls in Argentina – where he proposed, Mauritius, Petra and right now, in the middle of the sea.
Not only that but the spoiling has continued, a beautiful arrangement of flowers delivered to my room after breakfast, a new iPod shuffle to help keep me motivated while running, a selfie stick (yes I’ve become one of those people) from my mum, my annual hair cut has been booked in on board and the champagne is on ice ready for our dinner out tonight, child free, at Atul Kochhar’s restaurant Sindhu, an Indian fusion spectacular.
The dress is ready, the hair will be coiffed, and the husband is going to be dapper in his suit. The baby in night nursery and the Big One with Grandma before film night.
What a fantastic start to being 33 – here’s to a great year!
