Living Arrows 5/52 – having one-on-one time

“You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth”
Kahlil Gibran

This year I am taking part in Living Arrows, a weekly photography project taking photos of my boys week on week, last week was all about bubbles!

This week has been about making glitter jars and trips to the park.

The Glitter Jar

I may have mentioned we’re going through a stage of those f*%&!g fours resulting in BIG emotions and meltdowns.  Last year we made a calm down thinking jar.  I say we, the big one took the lead and made his own calm down thinking jar.  Which we then left behind in Dubai as it couldn’t come in our hand luggage being filled with water.

So this week, during the little ones nap, we took the opportunity to have some one-on-one time and  made another one to use as a tool when those emotions bubble over and he needs some help in working through them.

We even made a video:

One-on-one mornings

While the big one is out at school I get one on one time with my littlest man and while the weather is perfect we tend to head out to see his little friends at the park.  This little monkey loves the swings and we spend hour after hour there.  Back and forth with refusal to get out.  Still one positive is that at least he is contained.

Holly is just the same with the swing, it’s all she wants to do when we go to the park. I agree at least they are contained! x #LivingArrows

That glitter jar is such a good idea – I saw it on IG but didn’t read the caption, now I know what it’s all about. BTW, your IG feed is really lovely! x

I think those glitter jars are a really good idea. Anything that’s a tool that helps children, especially something so simple, is great. #livingarrows
