It’s Sunday, which means that it is time for the #rememberingthesedays for photographs that capture the special moments in family life round up with myself and Clare from Mudpie Fridays . Sundays mean weekly round up time – whoop whoop!
When we first started #rememberingthesedays we weren’t really sure what to hope for, some 40-odd weeks later we have had over 37,000 photos tagged and have been delighted to share in so many precious family moments with you all.
We would love you all to keep joining in next week, we love seeing those precious family moments from the ordinary moments to the extraordinary, because let’s face it, when you have children even the ordinary moments become special. Simply tag any photos of your memories #rememberingthesedays for a chance to feature.
Every week when I look through the photos I look for a theme that jumps out at me. This week is exploring the great outdoors.

Just keep swimming
For a long time I thought that my eldest would never swim. He hated it so much, he was scared, he was nervous and all he wanted to do was sit on the step and splash.
Now he is like a different child….
Today I had my four year old serve me a reminder of just why it was better to wait to let his confidence grow than to try and force him to do something he wasn’t ready for. – Today my four year old started swimming lessons, again. – We first went when he was three months old and if I’m totally honest that was for my benefit, not his. – We tried again when he was one year old. And that was an unprecedented disaster. He HATED it. Which may in fact be a slight understatement. This child wailed whenever he saw a pool, which wasn’t a good thing when you live in the Middle East. We shelved it until he got a bit older. – We tried again when he was two, I was heavily pregnant and away we went. This went better and as long as his feet were on the floor and his face stayed dry he was happy as Larry, whoever Larry may be. Any deeper? He clung to me like a limpet. Along came baby and it got pushed to the back burner. – We went again when he was three, and he was much improved. He was happy to be in the water, albeit with his feet on the floor. But he did allow himself to swim round the pool. – Fast forward to today; my little champ threw himself in, he went under, he kicked, he swam, and did it all with a smile on his face. – Because HE was ready to. #lifecloseup #littlefierceones
Happy birthday Kipper – this week I just had to feature Kipper’s photo because after all, it is his birthday!
F R I D A Y * 0 5 / 0 5 In ten minutes time a year ago my waters were broken, tomorrow is Kippers Birthday. We spent the morning at a lovely cake smash photo shoot. I can’t wait to share the pictures I am sure they are going to be amazing! This afternoon has been all about party prep, school run and gym for Monkey. Tonight I will be wrapping up his presents and drinking the odd glass of wine to celebrate. Happy Friday everyone. @ellaskitchenuk
