Some days are all about the Christmas feels, especially being an expat out in a country where you don’t celebrate Christmas. Those days you need to whack the Christmas tunes on and make your own Christmas magic. And what is more magic than the scent of gingerbread from a festive gingerbread recipe?
Gingerbread is the ultimate in Christmas cookies, from gingerbread houses to the scents of nutmeg and ginger mingling through the house, it is simply full of Christmas cheer.
So what else would I do other than round the pair of them up and get our bake on making this festive gingerbread recipe. I’ve not come across a more child friendly version in all my attempts to get this festive cookie in my house. The gingerbread recipe has no egg in, making it perfect for when little fingers sneak little tastes into their mouths, and it is hardy. It can stand being rolled, and re-rolled, and re-rolled again, still producing perfect gingerbread cookies everytime.
